Hello friends!
Join us tonight for Third Thursday Theology in the Fellowship Hall. This month’s topic is a timely one– “Faith and Politics.” I’ll look forward to seeing some of you there, and I’m sure we can work out the whole thing and set the country on the right path in just a couple of hours.
This Sunday the choir will be singing, and we’ll celebrate the coming of spring, and I’ll reflect a bit on one of my favorite poems, “Monet Refuses the Operation” by Lisel Mueller.
After the service, Well, here’s a message from Dan Lambert for the Religious Education Circle:
"The RE Circle and the Director of Religious Education Search Committee invite you to a listening session after the service this Sunday, March 18. The purpose of the gathering will be to update RE families and others on the search for a new Director of Religious Education and to collect input on the RE program that can be used in developing the job description, recruiting candidates, and hiring a replacement for Jill Lloyd, who is completing her many years of service in the next few months. We would love to hear your ideas on the program's strengths, opportunities for improvement, and future direction. We will try to make good use of your time and aim to meet no longer than one hour. We also intend to line up supervision for children during that time. If you would like to have a voice in the process, but are unable to attend the meeting, please feel free to contact me or Paul."
And finally for this week, the youth groups will be meeting at the usual times at the First Congregational Church of Hartland.
And remember to mark your calendar–next week there are two events to support the food shelf:
The “Bread Line” supper will take place next Saturday, March 24, from 4:30-6:30 in the Fellowship Hall–Let Bruce or Jill know if you’re bringing soup or bread.
And–There will be a piano and organ concert featuring some wonderful area performers next Sunday, March 25, at 4 pm in the sanctuary.
More info on both next week!
So, for now–enjoy the warm weather, and we’ll see you at the church!
In faith and love,
Paul
