That’s a busy weekend! Some details:
The “Soup and Bread Line Supper” will take place tomorrow afternoon/evening beginning at 4:30 in the Fellowship Hall. It’s a chance to support our Hartland Community Food Shelf and enjoy a fine meal as well. You can buy beautiful hand-painted bowls or borrow some to use. And if you’re up to it, bring soup or bread to share, as well!
Sunday morning Mary Erdei will lead worship as we welcome back to our pulpit our long-time member and lay leader, David Russell, who will be offering a sermon entitled “Two Visions of Community.”
Following the service–two special treats. First, at coffee hour, enjoy sugar on snow provided by the wonderful Bruce Locke and Clyde Jenne. Then head over to the Hartland Congregational Church for a brunch to support our youth mission trip.
At 4:00 on Sunday, there will be an organ and piano concert in the Sanctuary with performances from some very fine musicians from our community. There’s no charge for entrance except to ask for non-perishable food or donations for the Community Food Shelf.
Hooray for all these opportunities to support the Food Shelf!
Looking ahead a week, next Sunday will be April 1, April Fools’ Day. We’ll be celebrating the “Spirit of the Fool” in worship, so if you have a foolish idea or suggestion, let me know. And be sure to wear a funny hat or shirt, or something that day!
And finally, we’re still looking for a few volunteers to help out in our various Religious Education programs this spring. Come enliven your spirit by sharing some time with our amazing (and numerous) children! Here’s the list of what’s still needed at the moment. Contact Jill directly to sign up–jbl@vermontel.net!
