RE Buzz – December, 2011

It’s hard to believe the holiday season is already upon us! During this time of year my daily list of things to do is crammed full. I frequently remind myself to refrain from becoming a human “doing machine” and take a moment to reflect on my activities. Talking with my family about the root of holiday activities we are involved with such as the Community Thanksgiving Dinner, The Hartland Christmas Project and extended family get-togethers, is an opportunity for us to bring meaning and thanks to the holidays.

Speaking of thanks, during November alone, twelve adults, (Kim Aakre, Dave Morin, Beth Rice, Todd Lloyd, Sheila Drury, Chris Husman, Judy Howland, Katy Sawyer, Heather Findlay, Jill Lloyd, Mary Ann Postans, Sue Buckholz), volunteered to lead or assist during RE classes! The average number of children participating in the RE program each week including OWL and the regular RE classes is 34 youth and children. I believe our RE program is growing because of the enthusiasm and compassion the adults bring to it! I am deeply grateful for their support of the program.
