RE Weekly Update
Dear Parents and Friends,
I am sending my weekly update earlier than usual since I will be out of town from April 14th-21st. Before my departure, I need to plan for transportation to Sara Milek’s Cedar Hill Nursery on Sunday, April 22nd and so Sara can anticipate the number children visiting the nursery to be able to accommodate them. Please let me know by this Thursday, April 12th if your child(ren) will be at church, plan on going on the field trip, and if you are available to transport children. Thanks!
For Faith in Action last Sunday Dave & Sara Morin and Colleen Husmann led the children in cookie and boiled egg decorating for the coffee hour they hosted. I have to say the sugar cookies were the most creative and colorfully decorated I’ve ever seen!
As a Guest Artist, this Sunday April 14th, Sara Milek will begin the first of 5 gardening classes. Helen Dicke will be her assistant as Sara gives the children an orientation to gardening and then they will press flowers for a project in May. On April 22nd the children will head to her Cider Hill Nursery to plant flower seeds. Sara will tend the seeds in her nursery until they are ready to transplant into a garden bordering the labyrinth on June 3rd. We’ll have the children sign up to take turns to tend the garden over the summer. In the fall the flowers will be cut and dried and then made into flower arrangements to sell during the turkey supper silent auction to raise money for the Hartland Christmas Project.
