Our Whole Lives (OWL) is an intensive, comprehensive, lifespan curriculum created by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ (UCC) focused on age-appropriate education on all aspects of human relationships and sexuality in the context of our respective faiths.
Our church, and the First Congregational Church (The Brick Church) join together to offer three OWL programs: one for children in grades 5 & 6*, one for youth in grades 7 & 8*, and one for our High Schoolers in grades 9-12*.
We offer these classes biannually (mostly). Please keep an eye on the Newsletter and other Church communications for when these are coming up.
For our parents and youth, we encourage you to consider being a part of this program, which requires a commitment to attendance at orientation sessions for parents, and at all sessions for youth. For all our members and friends, I encourage you to learn about this program, which is a long-standing and very successful offering by our faith tradition. There are OWL programs available for all ages, Kindergarten through adult. Currently we offer, on a rotating basis, the three programs listed above. Offering OWL programs requires a significant commitment of training for leaders and time for the sessions.
